What is ShareALift.ie
ShareALift.ie provides a platform for users to enter offers or requests for Lifts and to get in touch with each other either via e-mail or telephone in order to arrange pick up time, meeting point and fee for a particular lift.
How much does it cost to advertise my lift or to search for a lift
Using this site is absolutely free. Placing a lift as well as searching for a lift are completely free of charge. All you need to do is register and you are good to go. Just follow the simple instructions.
How do I enter or request a Lift
In order to enter a request or an offer you have to register with ShareALift.ie
After successful registration you can use ShareALift.ie free of charge.
How is the fee calculated
In general the fee is a matter of negotiation and it is agreed on before the start of the trip. The fee should be calculated according to the number of persons in the car. Take the total petrol price for the trip and divide it by the number of persons in the car (incl. the driver) + 10 to 15%.
What are the rules of ShareALift.ie
It is not permitted to misuse ShareALift.ie for any advertisement other than genuine lifts, offers or searches.
What happens in the event of an accident
All passengers are insured and covered with third party insurance.
You want to enter a request, however, your town is not listed
If your town is not listed choose a listed town nearest you and enter your actual start point and finish point in the comment field.
We keep checking the list and always try to complete the list by adding more towns.
